Description
PGS vessels have continuous observation for mammal and turtle sightings, this can be a combination of visual inspection and acoustic sensors. The data provides details for the sightings under numerous projects offshore Brazil. This dataset is the result of processing input data from multiple projects and ensuring the data are consistently formatted and aggregated into a single common format. The original files can be found on the Ocean Data Platform.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 2,240 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data
PGS in collaboration with HUB Ocean transformed proprietary seismic-industry ocean and marine-mammal records into FAIR data and released them through Hub Ocean’s platform— then connecting further to OBIS, where researchers could apply it to new ecological and conservation analyses.
