Description

The Invertebrate Collections is one of the University Museum of Bergen’s large collections of scientific zoological material. “Invertebrates” is a traditional grouping for animals without a backbone. At our museum, like in many other scientific collections, invertebrates are the remaining part of the animal kingdom when vertebrates, insects, spiders and millipedes (entomology) have been accounted for. A large part of our collection consists of marine invertebrates from Norwegian waters, but it also includes material from all over the globe, and some limnic and terrestrial groups. These web pages currently include material from some of our most recent projects supported by the The Norwegian Taxonomy Initiative; Artsprosjekt_29-17_SeaslugSouthernNorway_2018 (Nudibranchia) Artsprosjekt_25-17_AnDeepNor (Polychaeta) Artsprosjekt_55-12_PolyNor (Polychaeta) Artsprosjekt_15-18_Hardbunnsfauna (various groups) Artsprosjekt_24-19_HYPCOP_2019 (Copepoda) Artsprosjekt_4-23_NorDigBryo (Bryozoa) Artsprosjekt_3-20_Ventseepfauna Artsprosjekt_2-23_MAnDAriN (Annelida) Artsprosjekt_9-21_SOS (Nematoda (terrestrial)) More records from other sub-collections will be added in the near future.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 19,632 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
