Description

This dataset consists of birds ringed with Norwegian rings in the period 1914-1960.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 70,972 records.

This historic dataset also includes birds ringed in other countries than Norway, including Sweden (around 500 birds), Finland (39), Antarctica (100), Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic (almost 2000) and smaller numbers in several other countries.

Taxonomic Coverage

Only birds ringed are included. Records of Eagle Owl, Snowy Owl, Gyrfalcon, Peregrine Falcon and Golden Eagle have been omitted from the dataset.
