Hollow oaks are a Selected Habitat Type under the Norwegian Nature Diversity Act and a hot‐spot habitat for insects, lichens and fungi. In the present study, window traps baited with alcohol were used at and around 14 hollow oaks to trap beetle species for studies of beetle population genetics. The traps were out for a short period in May/June.
