Description

Benthic transect observations from an AUV video survey at Kalvan in 2025. The dataset contains frame-based annotation records from seabed transects, including taxon or habitat labels, counts, timestamps, coordinates, depth, seafloor type, and related image and vehicle metadata. Survey mapping was done by Aspecto on behalf of Fishbase Group AS. Contact person: Kelsey Archer Barnhill (kelsey@aspecto.no).

Method step description:

  1. Frame-based annotation records derived from benthic transects surveyed by an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) at Kalvan in August 2025. Human annotators reviewed video frames and extracted images, assigning taxon labels and counts and linking each record to georeferenced vehicle position and timestamp. Survey mapping was done by Aspecto on behalf of Fishbase Group AS.
