<para>Materials: aquatic weed rake, fish traps with charr bait, underwater binoculars, and survival suits.

Methods:
Different points and zones were put up on the beach, the pier, and the floating pontoons in Ny-Ålesund.

At Pontoon location 1 to 5 and “Pier NE”, there were fish traps that stood out for around 24 hours. Location 1 to 3 was only set out once, while traps at locations 4, 5, and “Harbor NE” were set out twice.

For the floating pontoon, we have the locations, “pontoon 1” and “pontoon zone”. Here, we collected organisms by hand and with a scraper to remove them from the pontoon.

There were also collected organisms from three different beaches around Ny-Ålesund, “beach marine lab side”, “beach glazier side”, and “beach Amundsen tower”. The site “beach marine lab side” was collected twice, while the others were collected only once. Here, species were collected using an aquatic weed rake, visual observations with underwater binoculars, and hand collection.

For the sampling location called “NYÅ harbour”, organisms were collected from the inside of the pier. The same sampling method was used as from the beach locations. </para>
